About this policy
This policy describes how Prather Software’s Quest Theater app processes information when you mirror a compatible iPhone screen to a Meta Quest headset. It covers the app, rather than only the Prather Software website.
Mirrored video and audio
Quest Theater receives the video and audio sent by your iPhone over your local network and processes them in memory to decode, display and play your stream. The app has no implemented recording or media-upload feature. Screen content may include personal information or notifications that you choose to mirror.
Network and pairing information
The app processes local network addresses, device and session identifiers, connection status and stream-format information to discover your phone, pair, connect and maintain playback. It stores a receiver identifier, pairing keys, trusted sender identifiers/public keys and pairing-failure counters in app-private preferences. These allow the receiver to retain its identity and recognize paired senders.
Hands and controllers
Quest Theater processes hand joint poses, controller tracking, buttons and sticks locally to move, resize and tilt the theater screen and operate its controls. It does not implement a tracking-history recording feature or upload these inputs to a developer-operated service.
Storage and retention
Received video and audio are processed for the active session and are not saved as recordings by the app. Pairing preferences remain on the headset until the app’s data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. The release candidate disables Android app backup. Technical diagnostics may remain in platform logs under the platform’s own retention behavior.
Diagnostics and support
The release candidate disables application-level Unity control/session logs and the receiver’s development log output. The native audio decoder may emit numeric error information. The headset operating system and Unity engine may still produce device, network or crash diagnostics. Private development builds produce more verbose logs. If you email support, Prather Software receives your email address and the information you choose to send so it can respond. Support correspondence may be retained while needed to resolve your request and meet applicable obligations. Please avoid sending pairing keys, passwords or unnecessary mirrored content.
Stop sharing and delete data
Stop Screen Mirroring on your iPhone to stop sending media, or close Quest Theater to stop receiving it. To remove the receiver’s locally stored identity and pairing information, clear Quest Theater’s app data on the headset or uninstall the app. This resets the receiver’s local pairing state. These actions do not delete information independently held by your source apps, phone, headset platform or email provider. For privacy questions or to request deletion of support correspondence you have sent to Prather Software, email mason@prathersoftware.com. Prather Software cannot remotely clear app-private preferences from your headset.
Policy updates
Prather Software will update this policy when the app’s information practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. Any future additions such as analytics, crash-report uploads or online platform services must be reflected in the policy before they are used.
